Chair's Welcome
On behalf of the Board, I’m delighted to welcome you to our website.
Endeavour Academy Trust was formed in 2013 as a Single Academy Trust of Little Mead Primary Academy under the leadership of Barbara Daykin, the founder CEO, and Jane Rogers, the founder chair. Having overseen the successful growth and development of the Trust, both retired 2019/20.
In 2019, Endeavour Academy Trust appointed a new CEO in Shirley Mustoe shortly followed, in 2020, by a new Chair in myself Anabel Sexton. We are delighted to be entrusted with guiding the Trust through its next phase of development.
Effective governance is critical to all Multi-Academy Trusts, and as such we have spent the last couple of years reviewing and fine-tuning our governance structures to ensure they will allow us to thrive in the future and support our children in the best ways possible.
The overall governance of our MAT is made up of three levels of dedicated volunteers: the Members, the Trustees, and the Local Governing Bodies.
Our Members are similar to traditional Shareholders. They ‘own’ our Memorandum and Articles of Association. They are also responsible for appointing and removing Trustees and ensuring that we are practicing good governance.
Our Board of Trustees are both charity trustees and company directors. They have responsibility for the strategic direction of the Trust, holding the Executive to account of the quality and standard of education and teaching and learning, behaviour and pastoral care and safeguarding in our school, and of course, compliance with all of the financial, statutory, health and safety and contractual requirements involved in running a Trust of schools.
And finally, our Local Governing Bodies are made up of the dedicated groups who oversee the educational standards and local issues at each individual school within our Trust.
As Chair of the Trust, I’m incredibly grateful to all the volunteers who give their time for the benefit of the children in our schools.
If you have any questions regarding the governance of our Trust, please contact Maria Trowbridge on maria.trowbridge@endeavouracademytrust.org.uk.
